Does he like me? Could he be interested? 

With the mixed messages and signals laced throughout our dating culture today, how on earth is a girl supposed to know if a guy is interested in her?

I think the answer to this question is constantly changing as rapidly as our culture is changing, so I went to my go-to source for answers: my amazing single readers at TrueLoveDates.com. Last week on my True Love Dates Facebook Page, I asked the gentlemen to tell me how they show interest in a woman. She’s wondering, “does he like me”…so how do you show that you like her?

A few themes came up over and over again in their answers. Here’s what the guys said they do to show a girl they’re interested in her: 

He’ll say hi in passing or give you a friendly greeting to try and connect.

He’ll approach you to start a conversation with you.

He’ll probably act a little awkward around you (guys are dealing with their insecurities as well, ladies!)

He’ll dig deeper in the conversation and ask specific questions to get to know you.

He’ll try to be funny and get you to laugh or joke around with you.

He’ll compliment you in specific ways.

He’ll ask you out for coffee or to grab something to eat.

So to answer your question: Does he like me?

In my sincere opinion, there’s no way to truly know if someone is interested in you without him directly telling you or asking you out on a date. I have to admit, my husband John showed a lot of these signs when we first became friends, but for the longest time, I wrote off the signs because I didn’t want to get my hopes up that there could be interest – in case there wasn’t. But eventually, the conversation came…we had the DTR, meaning, we “defined the relationship” and got on the same page. 

I’m a firm believer that actions AND words need to match up in a healthy relationship. But I would venture to say that if you’re seeing a few of these signs consistently and regularly, aimed specifically at you, then that’s a good clue there’s something going on underneath the surface, ladies.
